SUMMER SOLSTICE ~ FIVE DAY RETREAT
Wowza! We found the most amazing spot for our first Gloucester, MA retreat. Imagine yourself here (with a dozen or so other really cool women) taking time to really relax, enjoy and create with no distractions. Our morning walks in the secluded Eastern Point neighborhood will be magical. Yoga sessions overlooking the water, the outdoor hot tub, guided meditations--all provide endless inspiration for journaling and creating art...it is like a collective dream we'll share in real life. We can't wait to experience it with you!
Gloucester is about an hour north of Boston on the coast and was my home for many, many years. Most recently, I had my summer gallery and home on Rocky Neck, the nearby artist's colony. The area is not only stunningly beautiful, but it's a real waterfront community with so much to see and do, plus some fabulous restaurants to explore for nightly dinners. Best of all, it's easy to get to--accessible by commuter rail from Boston.
Our retreat begins on Friday evening, June 21st (Summer Solstice!) with a healthy gourmet welcome dinner and ends after lunch on June 26th, when we reluctantly say goodbye. The food will be spectacular, featuring fresh local ingredients by Chive Events. You will see what it's like to establish healthy habits while enjoying every morsel. We accommodate all dietary preferences, so don't be shy about letting us know.
And that's just the food...
Everyday is chock full of inspiring and life-changing activities. Our journaling and sharing circles are transformational. The daily yoga classes are gentle enough for beginners, yet still challenging for long-time practitioners. What really sets these retreats apart though, is the unique art workshops, created and adapted over the years to unleash your inner artist while having so much fun. Making art together is like a newer version of an old-fashioned quilting bee, where deep thoughts, silly stories and surprising secrets are shared. No matter how artistic you may or may not think you are, you'll get to let loose as you play with vibrant watercolor, learn about print and pattern by carving your own printing stamps, handcraft your own artist's books that tell the new story of your ideal life and write yourself a love letter.
But wait, there's more!
The best part: our people. Witnessing you, our guest, come alive and completely inhabit your truest Self in a brand new way is a gift. Our powerful team of lovely, light-hearted retreat leaders makes it all even better. Jamie Coffey (my Florida bestie and amazing yoga teacher) and my sweet stepsister Martha Abbot from Martha's Vineyard (resident shaman and Kripalu trained yoga instructor) are here to usher you into an amazing experience. The three of us have been hosting retreats together for several years and I can tell you--just spending time with these two is a treat in itself!
