2020 Fashion Update--Why am I smiling?

Thirty-five years ago, in the tiny seaside town of Rockport, Massachusetts, I founded a fashion company, based on prints I designed by hand carving potatoes into signature shapes, inspired by nature. (Insert "no  small potatoes" joke here).

With the egret as my logo (and my muse) and the sun as my North Star, we named the line Segrets Sun Prints. It had an intangible value -- joyful authenticity...harder and harder to find these days.

I never expected it to grow into a multi-million dollar enterprise, sold in thousands of stores across the world, employing hundreds of people.

I also never expected to be purchased by a major corporation and was completely dumbfounded in 2008, when they closed it down forever.

Since  that time (and maybe because of it) I learned the biggest lesson of all...how to pivot and dance with life's unexpected changes. (Full story available in my book MY LIFE Redesigned.)

During my break from the fashion industry, I pursued a different path--and found my Self in the process. Today I have added yoga teacher, retreat leader, and advocate for graceful aging to my resume. But I haven't abandoned my love of design.

Fast forward to the year 2020. It hasn't been an easy one, very uncertain, very volatile, very illuminating. It has given me plenty of time to focus within and decide what's next for me.

Looking at my lifestyle (outdoors, in the tropical setting of South West Florida, I decided to go back to my roots and launch a small resort collection of hand-printed and embroidered pieces that I love to wear every day.

I am unleashing my intuition, following my heart and doing this on my own, with no investors or corporate control. Just me. And a small woman owned factory in India. Thank you, Mandira.

Please welcome
